You cannot Understand Ascension without Understanding Initiation

It is not possible to truly understand the process of ascension without understanding the process of initiation because the two are intimately connected with each other.
Initiation and ascension are really two sides of the same coin.
We go through initiations in a systematic order by both sequentially and simultaneously mastering our four lower bodies, as well as merging with our Higher Self and Monad in increasing measure.
And as we master our lower bodies and increasingly merge with the higher aspects of ourselves, we are raising our frequency and thus “ascend” into higher levels of consciousness. So we ascend by taking initiations. An initiation is an expansion of consciousness. As we expand our consciousness, we ascend.
The Integrated Ascended Master makes a conscious effort to expand his consciousness in order to take higher and higher levels of initiation and ascend into higher and higher dimensions of reality.
